Belmont Park is a 27 Hectare site strategically positioned on the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia. Belmont Park offers a unique master planning opportunity on a key site. The Burswood Peninsula has developed as a leisure precinct accommodating the Burswood Crown Casino Complex which consists of hotels, restaurants, bars, a casino, a convention centre, the State Tennis Centre and a $1.2bn 80,000 seat Burswood Football Stadium under construction, opening in 2017. The completed Mirvac Peninusla residential community in addition to the Belmont Park racetrack.
The redevelopment of Belmont Park will enhance the peninsulas underlying identity of health, leisure and recreation by providing sport club amenities as a focal point to the development including a new grandstand incorporating a sports club, gymnasium, indoor pool, bars, restaurants and conference facilities, as well as enlarging upon the local walking and cycling network and providing extensive public recreation areas. The redevelopment of Belmont Park will be a mixed-use, high density development that retains the existing racetrack, incorporating a new grandstand and respects a defined foreshore reserve.
Portfolio International were initially selected as the preferred developer by the Western Australia Turf Club for the Belmont Park Development. Portfolio sourced The Golden Group as the investor, with Portfolio handling all the zoning, approvals, concept development and structured financing as part of their day to day development management role for the project on behalf of the investment group.
